2025 1st Tien-Chiung Drone Soccer Championship (Central Region)
Event Purpose
Drone Soccer originated in South Korea in 2016 and has rapidly grown into an innovative sport combining technology and competitive athletics. In recent years, it has been widely promoted across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. This competition aims to raise public awareness and participation in drone soccer, allowing elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, college students, and working professionals to experience this innovative sport that merges technology with athletics firsthand. Through the competition, we hope to cultivate participants’ piloting skills, strategic thinking, and teamwork abilities, while inspiring more young students’ interest in STEM fields. Furthermore, this event aspires to promote the popularization of drone soccer in Taiwan, further aligning with international standards, enabling more Taiwanese athletes to participate in international competitions, elevating competitive levels, and securing Taiwan’s place in the global drone sports arena.
Event Information
- Registration Period: Now until April 7, 2025 (registration closes once each division reaches capacity)
- Entry Fee: Completely free (includes group insurance; no meals provided)
- How to Register: Complete the online Google Form or submit by postal mail
Eligibility and Divisions
Participants (or schools) must be registered, reside, or work in Miaoli, Taichung, Nantou, Changhua, or Yunlin.
- Elementary Division (Grades 1-6): Limited to 24 teams
- Junior High Division (Grades 7-9): Limited to 24 teams
- Open Division (Senior high, college, and working professionals): Limited to 16 teams
Highlights and Prizes
- Central Region Prizes: Top 3 in each division receive certificates and prize money (Open Division champion receives NT$8,400).
- Advance to Nationals: Top 3 from each Central Region division will advance to the National Finals held in December in Chishang, Taitung, competing for up to NT$90,000 in champion prize money.
- Participation Benefits: All participants receive an exclusive event badge and a chance to win premium gifts.
Competition and Equipment Regulations
National Finals rule: Teams advancing to the National Finals must use the association-designated drone ball (Tien-Chiung Drone Ball 200I).
- Team Composition: 3 players per team, including 1 scorer and 2 defenders.
- Bring Your Own Drone Ball: Participating teams must supply their own drone ball and complete the official inspection at least 15 minutes before the match (outer diameter must be 200 plus or minus 2mm, takeoff weight 100 plus or minus 2g, and other specifications must comply with regulations).
